Up for sale is a beautiful antique mid-19th-century style composite lamp featuring a vibrant sapphire/teal blue pressed glass font with a ruffled, fluted rim, connected to a white milk-glass style pedestal base. This piece has been converted for electric use.
Condition Report (PLEASE READ):
-
Important Defect: There is a distinct, internal stress crack located along the top ruffled rim/petal of the blue glass font (please see close-up photos for exact details).
-
Overall Appearance: Aside from the rim fracture, the glass retains excellent color and clarity. There are typical early manufacturing anomalies such as minor mold shear lines and internal bubbles consistent with age.
-
Functionality: Electrified conversion. It is highly recommended to use low-heat LED bulbs to prevent further thermal stress to the glass.13” tall base to top of blue glass, plus another 10” to finial top
